Kitt Peak, on the Tohono O’odham Nation, is home to twenty-four optical and two radio telescopes representing eight astronomical research institutions.
The Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Admission to the Visitor Center is Free.
Guided Tours begin at 10am, 11:30am, and 1:30pm. (Fee Charged)
The Kitt Peak Visitor Center is Closed: New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Directions to Kitt Peak
90 minutes drive from downtown Tucson.
Take I-10 to I-19 South. Less than 1 mile is Ajo Way/Hwy 86 (Exit 99). Take this exit West (right). Proceed past Ryan Airfield and Three Points. Continue until Junction 386 (Kitt Peak turnoff). Turn left onto 386. The Kitt Peak Visitor Center is located at the summit (12 miles).
Parking
There is ample parking for cars and RV’s and busses.
